1. Overview
WaveBump respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. This Copyright Policy explains how to report alleged copyright infringement on the Service and how WaveBump responds. It is designed to be jurisdiction-neutral and does not rely on any single national safe-harbour statute.
This Policy forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. Your Responsibilities
Users who upload music, artwork, metadata, or promotional materials must have all rights necessary to do so. Uploading content you do not have permission to use may result in removal and Account enforcement.
3. Reporting Procedure
If you believe content on WaveBump infringes your copyright (or a copyright you are authorized to enforce), send a written complaint to the contact below. We may also accept reports through in-product reporting tools where available.
Please do not submit copyright complaints for other types of disputes (for example purely contractual disagreements between collaborators) unless copyright infringement is actually alleged.
4. What to Include
To help us process a complaint efficiently, include:
- your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
- a description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
- the URL or other precise location of the allegedly infringing material on WaveBump
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or applicable law
- a statement that the information in your complaint is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on the rights holder's behalf
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for email submissions)
Incomplete complaints may delay review. WaveBump may request additional information where reasonably needed to identify the material or verify standing.
5. Review & Removal
Upon receiving a sufficiently complete complaint, WaveBump may remove, disable, or restrict access to the reported material, and may notify the uploading Account. We may also take interim measures while investigating.
Removal does not determine ultimate ownership of rights between disputing parties. WaveBump is a platform provider and is not an arbitration tribunal for music-rights conflicts, though we may act to limit distribution of disputed material on the Service.
6. Counter-Notice
If your content was removed following a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was mistaken or that you are authorized to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice including:
- your contact details
- identification of the removed material and its former location
- a statement explaining why you believe the material was removed in error or is non-infringing
- consent to be contacted regarding the dispute and any information needed for WaveBump to notify the original complainant
- your signature (typed full legal name is acceptable for email)
WaveBump may restore material at its discretion after reviewing a counter-notice, subject to applicable law and any ongoing legal process. We may decline to restore material where risk remains material.
7. Repeat Infringement
WaveBump may suspend or terminate Accounts and Workspaces that repeatedly upload infringing material or that ignore prior removal notices. What constitutes repeat infringement is determined reasonably based on the volume, severity, and pattern of complaints and findings.
8. Misrepresentation
Submitting knowingly false copyright complaints or counter-notices is prohibited and may result in Account action. You may also be exposed to liability under applicable law for material misrepresentations.
9. Contact
Send copyright complaints and counter-notices to contact@wavebump.com with the subject line "Copyright Complaint" or "Copyright Counter-Notice".
