1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities and content that are not allowed on WaveBump. It supplements the Terms of Service and works alongside the Community Guidelines.
2. Scope
The AUP applies to all Accounts, Team Workspaces, Promo Campaigns, Smart Links, Shared Links, Discovery activity, comments, feedback, contact lists, email distribution, downloads, APIs (when available), and any other use of the Service.
3. Prohibited Content
You must not upload, distribute, or make available content that:
- infringes copyright, neighbouring rights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- discloses personal data without a lawful basis or in violation of privacy laws
- contains malware, ransomware, trojans, or other harmful code
- is pornographic or sexually exploitative
- promotes or facilitates illegal activity
- constitutes hate speech, discriminatory attacks, or extremist propaganda
- threatens, harasses, or incites violence against any person or group
- is designed primarily for spam or deceptive promotion unrelated to legitimate music promotion
4. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- use WaveBump to harass artists, labels, recipients, staff, or other users
- engage in unrelated political campaigning through comments, campaigns, or profile surfaces
- run scams, phishing, or social-engineering schemes
- attempt to manipulate analytics, feedback, or engagement metrics through fraudulent means
- bypass plan limits, suspensions, or access controls
- resell or misrepresent WaveBump access in a deceptive manner
- use the Service in any way that damages deliverability, security, or reputation of the platform
5. Email & Outreach
When using email distribution or contact tools, you must not:
- send unsolicited bulk messages where prohibited by law
- import scraped or unlawfully obtained recipient lists
- forge sender identity or use misleading subject lines to deceive recipients
- continue messaging recipients who have clearly opted out where opt-out is required
- use WaveBump as an open relay for non-music or abusive mass mailing
6. Technical Misuse
You must not:
- probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without prior written authorization from WaveBump
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to Accounts, Workspaces, systems, or data
- interfere with Service integrity, rate limits, or availability (including denial-of-service activity)
- scrape the Service in a way that burdens infrastructure or violates technical restrictions
- circumvent authentication, DRM-like access controls, or link permissions
- misuse future API access (when available) beyond documented scopes and rate limits
7. Rights & Impersonation
You must not impersonate another person, artist, label, or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation. You must not upload music or promotional assets for which you lack necessary rights, permissions, or licenses.
8. Enforcement
WaveBump may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, throttle features, suspend Accounts, terminate access, or report activity to authorities when reasonably necessary. Enforcement may be applied at Account or Workspace level.
9. Reporting
To report AUP violations, contact contact@wavebump.com with relevant URLs, timestamps, and a short description of the issue. Copyright-specific complaints should follow the Copyright Policy.
10. Updates
We may update this AUP as the Service evolves. The version and dates at the top of this page identify the current policy. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
